Re: Samsung TV: seeking doesn't always work

OK, I understand. If anyone's willing to create a pull request with the file I posted, be my guest.

Re: Samsung TV: seeking doesn't always work

@Nadahar: in the other thread you asked me to create a pull request with my renderer conf. I don't really feel like going through the hassle of GitHub, so I'll just post it here. I think it should work with all of Samsung's 2017 UHD models.

Re: Samsung TV: seeking doesn't always work

The problem is that subtitle support isn't precisely defined as it's outside the DLNA standard. DLNA doesn't have support for subtitles at all, so Samsung and Panasonic have both come up with their own, undocumented solutions. Others have also started to use one of those "unofficial extensions...

Re: Samsung TV: seeking doesn't always work

I'm not sure we can fix it then. As said before, I wasn't quite sure of the cause, but the way it works when streaming subtitles is basically that UMS offers two files to the renderer. One is the transcode output, the other is the subtitles file. The subtitles file has its timestamps set relative t...

Re: Samsung 2-4k playback issues

Sami32, did you actually read the entire thread? Because I don't think the backs999's video is still being transcoded with the conf file I sent. Also, I took a quick look at the conf file you sent and you have SeekByTime set to true, which just doesn't work for the UE40MU6120. (It needs to be set to...

Sami32 wrote: Sat Jan 27, 2018 11:04 am @abcd Hi,
I've attached the debug file of trying to seek in the video file with subs, which didn't work.
Where ?
I removed it, because the problems in the original post no longer exist.

Re: Samsung TV: seeking doesn't always work

I have tested it, the problem still persists. After seeking it takes quite some time for the subs to show, and then once it shows, it's completely out of sync. So you're right about the problem, you just haven't quite got the fix yet :P. If you want me to run a trace or try another version, just ask.

Re: Samsung 2-4k playback issues

abcd, thank you so for this. i'm getting another issue now though.. every 10 or so seconds, the screen is going fuzzy and distorted :S. First thing to check is if the video is still being transcoded or not. To check this, go to the video on your TV and check the filesize of the video (bottom left c...

Re: Samsung 2-4k playback issues

@abcd If/when you have a renderer configuration that works really well for your renderer, you should create a pull request here: https://github.com/UniversalMediaServer/UniversalMediaServer/pulls with the new configuration file. That way your work figuring it out can be shared with others by defaul...
