Aspect Ratio on Panasonic UT50 Smart TV
Hello, I've been trying to figure out if there is a way to fix the aspect ratio issue on my Panasonic UT50, primarily affecting MKV files that are 720p or 1080p. When playing videos (via DLNA), they're stretched vertically. I read several threads about this being fixed when using Mencoder, which ind...

Re: Broken subtitles? How to fix it!
Ah, I had to force transcode and change
to
for the TV to be able to play the MEncoder version. It was unable to read the file without the change and seems to be working now. Black bars with correct aspect ratio and subs disabled.

Re: Broken subtitles? How to fix it!
I finally got my new Panasonic TC-P50UT50 hooked up to the network today and tried UMS. Initially with subtitles enabled the aspect ratio was correct but the subs were doubled and on top of each other. When force-disabling subtitles in UMS Transcoding Settings, saving/restarting UMS, the video no lo...

Re: Vizio Smart TVs
I have a M470VSE. I tried the .conf file but it appears that this TV shuts off whenever I attempt to play a movie file. The TV literally turns off as I select the file or hit Play. What is up with that...?

Vizio Smart TVs
Is there any way to get Vizio Smart TVs to play files via UMS? It doesn't appear to see MKV files at all and files such as MP4 generate messages in the Vizio interface such as Audio codec not supported and Video codec not supported. Also, it doesn't see any files in the Transcode folder(s). Log is b...

Re: DirecTV HRxx and Hxx Thread
After making that change, the videos appear on my DirecTV receiver with an X next to them, and won't even try to play. I also get "Play all" and "Shuffle all" controls at the top of the list, which makes me think that the receiver thinks they're audio files instead of video file...

Volume Normalization
Is there any way to force volume normalization?
You know, when you can barely hear dialogue but action scenes are blowing up your speakers? I'd love to fix that.
Edit: If it matters, I forgot to mention that I'm streaming to my PS3.

Re: DirecTV HRxx and Hxx Thread
I forgot to mention that I also had to change it from 6 channels (5.1) to 2 channels (Stereo) in the Common Transcode Settings to avoid an error and allow playback. It may or may not matter that I have one of the new HR34 HD-DVRs. DEBUG 2012-12-21 11:13:36.928 [Thread-35] [mp2 @ 01159be0]Channel lay...

Re: DirecTV HRxx and Hxx Thread
I think the key might be this: -lavcopts autoaspect=1:vcodec=mpeg2video:acodec=ac3:abitrate=448:threads=8:keyint=5:vqscale=1:vqmin=2:vrc_maxrate=4000:vrc_buf_size=1666 The videos I've been able to play on DirecTV have had MPEG-1 layer-2 audio, not AC3. Is it possible to change the option above to b...
