Re: ChromeCast Ultra (the new one with HEVC support)

Actually, the best route for Chromecast+UMS might be a hybrid approach. Chromecast->BubbleUPNP Server ->UMS So UMS is your media server while BubbleUPNP Server acts as a broker to the Chromecast including handling transcoding, and you use the BubbleUPNP app from your phone to browse/play video. So i...

Re: ChromeCast Ultra (the new one with HEVC support)

# Supported video formats:
Supported = f:mpegts|mp4|mkv v:mp4|h264|h265 a:aac|aac-he|mp3|ac3 n:2 m:video/mpeg

Sneaky Google. They added ac3 too.

Now if I could just figure out how to make mkv subs pass through as webvvt subs, I could watch anime without transcoding.

Re: ChromeCast Ultra (the new one with HEVC support)

I'm not familiar with the java methods, but it looks like instead of setting the renderer by a name key it needs to get the renderer by headers.

Re: nvidia shield k1

Shield K1:
1. Install SPMC (kodi fork for your shield)
2. Launch SPMC
3. Enjoy UMS

ChromeCast Ultra (the new one with HEVC support)

Currently this config is not yet working. My new ChromecastUltra is still coming up as a normal Chromecast (but I have a temporary workaround) Probably because the Chromecast hardcodes the renderer file selection: from:ChromecastMgr.java ccr = RendererConfiguration.getRendererConfigurationByName(&qu...

Re: Windows 10/DLNA Conf Files

I have a 10 workstation that I run UMS from (works fine, only issue currently is the regression in DTS playthrough several users have mentioned). I launched WMP. Check version, 12.0.10011.16397. I am running UMS 5.2.2. I look at UMS and it has correctly identified a WMP renderer on my network. Perha...

Re: Sony finally released a media player for the ps4!

Unless Sony updates Media Player to not suck, maybe every stream started on a PS4 should have a 10 second video first saying "contact Sony at <whatever> to ask for the following features in their media player if you were expecting them to work". It feels weird listing something this crippl...

Re: Is it time to replace my PS3 ?

Since MS/Sony have decided to add DLNA "Support" to Xbone/PS4, and the PS3 is nearing EOL for many consumers; I am guessing this is a dilemma more and more people will have. I see Nexus Player/FireTV running Kodi/etc as a solution some people use vs trying to create HTPCs. I don't really n...

Re: Sony finally released a media player for the ps4!

This media player is starting to look like an interns project. How so? As consumers we're trying to make the native PS4 media player do things it's not supposed to do, that aspect of things currently being sketchy is not really anyone's fault. Sony have got the ball rolling on their side by providi...
