yes, accessing UMS web interface remotely is totally doable. Look at forwarding port 9001. Once this port is forwarded you can access it by referencing your external ip followed by port 9001.

like this: http://my_external_ip:9001

Thanks Nadahar, No big deal I thought I would try. I'm just trying to find the laziest way possible :D However I did write the script in Ruby, is there a safe way in Ruby ?

restarting UMS in command prompt

Hello,

Is there a way to restart UMS in command prompt ? I wrote a script that converts all my videos to MP4, I want to be able to restart UMS in a batch file immediately after a file has been converted.

Hello,

This seems to have fixed my problem thank you so much, however will i need to run the Bat file every time I want to run UMS? Right now if i quit out of the application and start it normally it will still prompt me to install Java, is there a way to stop this?

I than installed the latest version of OpenJDK and not version 8 as I was not able to find this version. I hope version 9 is okay. Thanks, your right when i play these movies on a renderer such as BubbleUPNP or Chromecast the subs and movie play just fine.
