Re: HD Audio Tracks for movies???
In this case your audio receiver must be able to support TrueHD (or any other advanced audio format) as the audio stream will be passed as is to the receiver for decoding.Supermanfan77 wrote:TrueHD is supported if you select the Encoded audio passthrough option under transcode settings.

Re: Installing UMS on an Rpi 2
I was wondering if it was possible to set up UMS on the Raspberry Pi 2, I wouldn't mind overclocking it a bit if that meant less stuttering for example. Thanks in advance, wevans59 Usually those SoCs aren't powerful enough for transcoding (unless you have custom drivers taking advantage of specific...

Re: Is it time to replace my PS3 ?
6 months later, is that assessment still valid ? I still use my PS3...but it seems there is not obvious replacement to it I think the main issue is that all manufacturers of Consumer Entertainment devices abandon them software wise once the new model is on the street. Re: h.265 on Samsung TVs
HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding or H.265) is one of the most important technologies to have emerged in the TV industry in the last decade. However, H.265/HEVC, as the newest codec has not been accepted by these 4K TVs yet. It is necessary for us to transcode H.265/HEVC videos for playback on 4K ...

Re: Stream from analog video capture card
Interesting, I would probably start by making sure the analog video is captured by VLC and transcode/remux it to something your renderer would accept streamed as is to avoid a 2nd trnscoding by UMS, and then that stream be announced via the web streams capability of UMS. Probably I overcomplicated i...

Re: Building Question
I just tried UMSBuilder. It does the same thing as building the package with maven. After it is finished you have a .tar.gz file with the installation in it. Honestly, it's just a wrapper for the git system and maven so that a user would not have to know any git or maven commands. I did edit the UM...

Re: Building Question
Did you try UMS Builder? viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1782
It pulls everything and leave sources and external components in a folder structure that mimics the installation architecture.

Re: Need help troubleshooting problems between UMS and my PS4?
If you're over wifi that may be the issue. Just for testing, why don't you move the PS4 close to the PC/router and connect it via cable?
