Re: UMS Unable To Start

Essentially I already did that and the guide I followed on here was the same as the ones I had used before. I eventually got it working when I switched to Ubuntu Server instead of Raspbian and I had it up and running but it took over an hour and a half to build it's database (which missed 3/4 of the...

Re: UMS Unable To Start

Sure I know but just being clear. I followed a guide online first then the guide posted on here which was basically download, move and set link. I then replaced the init setup with a systemd setup but I can't get either working which I guess since I can't get the script to run manually anyway isn't ...

Re: UMS Unable To Start

Thanks changed the conf file but no change and I checked the path but I've set it to /etc/ums which is linked to ums-6.4.0 so not sure, I've attached my set-up files.

Re: UMS Unable To Start

Thanks for the replies. I think I've managed to get the systemd setup though I'm still running into the initialization error. The first time I try and run it I get this: sudo systemctl status ums ? ums.service - Universal Media Server Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/ums.service; enabled) Active:...

Re: UMS Unable To Start

I couldn't get it to run by itself so I removed the existing files and started again as per your instructions but still wouldn't run (same issue): Failed to start opt-ums-UMS.service.mount: Unit opt-ums-UMS.service.mount failed to load: No such file or directory. Here are my permissions for /etc and...

Re: UMS Unable To Start

I didn't have the folder so I created it but no luck, then in the log it stated it was looking in /root/.config/UMS/ so I made the folder there but still doesn't start. From the log it seems like the PID issue is solved but now it just throws a serious error.

Re: UMS Unable To Start

Ok I tried your ums file with the changes you made (thanks) but no success so I altered it as you suggested and copied the 3 config files to the home directory of root with the given ownership and file permissions but still no luck with the same problem. I noticed when I checked the debug log again ...

Re: UMS Unable To Start

Thanks for the replies, I've attached my configure files as request (had to rename the start-up script to attach it) though I checked and it is pointing towards where I stored the conf file.

Code: Select all

UMS_PROFILE=/etc/UMS.conf

UMS Unable To Start

Hi, I am setting up Universal Media Server (6.4.0. Java 8) on a Raspberry Pi 2 (running Raspbian Jessie Headless) and have managed to get it installed and configured but I am unable to getting it to run. I couldn't reproduce the requested information but I checked the log and it produces this when I...
