Re: Java 9 and UMS

On Windows 10 with Java 9 installed UMS refuses to run, doesn't recognize that Java is installed, starts downloading an older version of Java and installs it. So now you end up with 2 versions of Java. Uninstalled Java 9 and the one installed by UMS; reinstalled latest Java 8 and everything is OK ag...

Java 9 and UMS

I saw that Java 9 was released today, being no longer beta I believe.
Will UMS be able to run with Java 9?
Or if not will that be so with future builds of UMS?
Or are there no development plans in that direction so that we must keep Java 8?

Re: ISO and VOB files are not displaying in Universal Media Server

Thank you for having take time to confirm it 8-) But i suspect that the next version will not work as you expect... So if you get time, please, provide a new full trace log with UMS 7.0.0a1 version. I think i remember an other user said that this issue begin with 6.6.0, meaning that the 6.5.3 versi...

A user just say that UMS 7.0.0a1 version solved it for him. Could you confirm that ?
I can confirm that with version 7.0.0.a1 the problems with iso, vob and files in [Video_ts] are now gone.

Re: Version 6.6.0 does not play .iso files anymore

Unfortunately as soon as I try to create a trace log and restart UMS I get an error saying the IP is already bound and no renderers become visible in the status window. Remains the fact that I can play (unzipped) .iso files perfectly in 6.5.3 and that the update to 6.6.0 made that impossible. Never ...

Re: Java 7 or 8?

Java version 8 is the latest and will have the longest support.
You can find UMS-java8 when you click the "down arrow" on the right side next to the Unix pinguin:
then a submenu will be revealed, it is kind of hidden... :P

Re: Java 7 or 8?

I suppose if you have a Java version 7 installed you use the UMS-java7 version, and if you have Java version 8 installed you use the UMS-java8 version. You can check the installed version of Java through the Control Panel -> Java -> General | About. Version 8.121 is the latest common version of Java.

Version 6.6.0 does not play .iso files anymore

Version 6.5.3 plays .iso files and even extracted files in the map [Video_ts] perfectly. Just yesterday updated to version 6.6.0 and now these files don't play anymore: UMS says it can't find any items to play. Other files like .avi .mp4 .mp3 etc. play without error. Can anyone confirm this is a bug...
