Not sure what would give you the impression that Live Subtitles is replacing anything. It's completely different. If you can't think of any way it can be improved then why make a big deal of it being ridiculous...

squatjot, if you have a suggestion about how Live Subtitles could work better we are open to it. It seems to me this feature is as easy as possible already but maybe I'm missing something.

I tried to build those programs for Linux but it's too difficult, it was taking up all of my time so I had to give up on it. So from 2.7.0 onwards, users will have to go back to compiling their own MPlayer and FFmpeg builds (which is how PMS has always done it, and how UMS almost always did it)

I think it was caused by the feature we added in 2.5.0 to remux H.264 video with FFmpeg instead of transcoding it, so it seems like a bug in FFmpeg.
Can you please try to replace win32/ffmpeg.exe with this one and see if that makes a difference?
