Re: How to force external subtitles and see HTTP requests/responses

No? Edit: Here's where i got to with transcoding : http://www.universalmediaserver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3874&hilit=tizen&start=10#p17934 Never got it working. Ok, you're just confusing me then. What ofrias is saying is that it works with UMS but not with minidlna. What he wants...

Re: could not be parsed. It will be hidden

The files are hidden because UMS can't parse them, or MediaInfo can't parse them to be exact. That means that UMS don't know how to play them, and thus they are hidden. The question is why. This has to do with the format of the files somehow. To try to figure out what's the problem, you should insta...

Re: How to force external subtitles and see HTTP requests/responses

You can see a lot of what UMS does, like if it's trascoding (embedding subtitles) or streaming (sending subtitles) in the TRACE log. Some of the HTTP traffic is also shown there. To enable TRACE logs, go to the "Logs" tab and select "TRACE" in both log level settings there. If yo...

Re: UMS 5.3.1 Fails when run as a Windows 10 Service

Thank you for the detailed investigation. I'm pretty sure I remember that port 5000 is involved in this somehow too, so I'm not sure your list of ports is complete ( This list somewhat backs up my memory ). A quick search also gave this quote : What ports are used in UPnP? There are not many standar...

Re: Samsung UE40ES5505

Hi jonsh

I guess you should try both renderer profiles and see which works best. You could look in the config files themselves and see what's different, and then test that or those features. I really don't know which profile should be used, and I doubt very many others do. What does it autodetect to?

Re: UMS 5.3.1 Fails when run as a Windows 10 Service

I don't have the full overview over the ports needed. It's not UMS that dictates this, but the DLNA/UPnP standard. It's based on multicast of UDP packages. I THINK UPnP listens to port 5000, but I'm not sure exactly what is needed to allow it's operation. Anyone that's interested can read more about...

Re: UMS 6.0.0-a1 doesn't detect PS3 as media renderer

Try to disable the firewall to see if that solves the problem. I'm not saying you should keep it disabled, but you have to try it so we can eliminate issues caused by the firewall. If you're behind a router with NAT, there's no need to run a local firewall on your computer as your router functions a...

Re: UMS 5.3.1 Fails when run as a Windows 10 Service

Regarding 32 and 64 bits it's a bit different with Java since it's the installed Java version and not the application itself that determine whether it is 32 bit or 64 bit. UMS should work with both, and the install path is probably just where it's "always" been. The wrapper is a software u...
