Check under the "Transcoding settings" tab. There is a setting there that controls the number of threads to use.

In fact it already is just add to UMS.conf and it will not start the Chromecast extension. I haven't seen any problem so that's why it's on default

Which gui are you talking about? The web or your render(tv,ps3 etc.)? If it's the web gui that can be solved if it is your render it's not possible to do anything about it.

WDTV do have an SDK and maybe even sort of an api which might (haven't looked in that deep) allow you to send even more metadata/info so that in can display stuff better/nicer.
