I think you should change your TV subtitles encoding parameter, between UTF-8 and ISO-8859-1. I do that myself with some subtitles, as the TV don't adapt/detect to the encoding by itself. You didn't disabled all the renderers, except your, as asked/explained.
So i guess that having 3 renderers icons displayed instead of only one don't bother you too much after all...

no, only few people have this issue, AFAIK. I use a Panasonic Viera without any displaying issue, as most of us.
