Re: Subtitle detection problem
I have noticed this issue for a long time now. One workaround that I use on 6.8.0 is to go into the transcode folder. For some reason, the new subtitle shows up there, and I can manually select it to run. This just saves me time restarting UMS.

I have in the past when I had problems or went from n.x.x to n+1.x.x. I haven't in a long time.

Re: PS4 MKV File Problem.
The PS4 does not really support .ass subtitles. It will display them as simple text, ignoring all formatting and position codes. So if there is a lot of text on screen, you will get a mess of text at the bottom. The hard work of the subbers will be lost. The PS4 supports .srt subtitles as CC text.

UMS and Special Characters in Subtitles
This is not a bug per se, more like UMS chooses poorly(?) I have in the past left the non-unicode subtitles encoding detection to Auto-detect. However, I don't know what encoding it's using, but the auto detection will not display curly quotes, N or M dashes, or ellipses correctly. For example, it’s...

Re: PS4 function compared PS3
I have both a PS3 and PS4 and am a long time user of UMS. It's just that the PS4 media player sort of sucks compared to the PS3. Your issues are the exact same ones I have noticed. The PS4 used to suck so bad, that you couldn't rewind at all in the beginning. So for me, if I need subtitles (which I ...

Re: [Transcoding folders] Limiting options
@Nadahar
I see that 7.1.0 is out. Is there any advantage for me to upgrade? It doesn't seem like the subtitle changes are in this new release, and I don't know if I'll take advantage of the "Fixed AAC audio parsing via FFmpeg" fix.
Thanks.

Re: I'm not Tech Savy enough to post a Proper Report
I have 4 computers on my LAN, 2 hard wired to my router and two connected to the router over WiFi, and I play video files between any and all of them at any time, and it works great. No stuttering, hardware decoding (even h265 on one machine), perfect. Full fast forward and rewind capable, subtitles...

Re: Are soft-subtitle settings controlled by UMS or by the TV?
There were DIvX subs/files in the past, but I don't see them anymore. I used to use them to play subs on my PS3 before PS3MS first came out.
