Re: A serious error occurred during Universal Media Server initialization: Permission denied: listen

We need a trace log to be able to see what's going on. Since you can't start UMS you can't do it "the usual way". If you open a command prompt/powershell and "cd" to the folder where UMS is installed (probably c:\Program Files(x86)\UMS) and run "ums.exe trace" it will s...

Re: Set up instructions

Thank you for writing this, even though the steps aren't the same for everyone. I'll just add some comments. UMS is a Java application, so you need to have Java installed to run it. On Windows (which is used by the majority of UMS users), the installer will download and install Java if it's not alre...

Re: UMS Closing when trying to add folders * Please help*

Thank you for the log, it got me on the right track. This is a bug that has nothing to do with UMS but affects any Java program that opens the "file chooser" (for opening or saving files). It's a bug introduced by a recent Windows update (Windows 10 Creators Update v1703). It seems that th...

Re: UMS Closing when trying to add folders * Please help*

Also, please verify that UMS is actually closing/crashing in the task manager. UMS will show there as java.exe or javaw.exe, there should be no such task there after UMS has closed/crashed.

Re: UMS Closing when trying to add folders * Please help*

It's very hard to solve something that we can't reproduce or find anything indication of why is happening. Could you post debug files as well, maybe we can find something in your log?

Re: 6.7.0 won't show video files on XBox 360

Thanks. I'll get back to you when I've made something for you to test. It will take some days as I'm currently bugged down in a couple of other issues, but I'll jump right on it as soon as I've finished the ones I have "open". I'm sure there are more 360 users out there, but I need one I c...

Re: 6.7.0 won't show video files on XBox 360

There's no progress this far because we haven't figured out the reason for the problem. A lot has changed in 6.7.x so it's not obvious what's causing the problem for the Xbox. None of the developers have a 360, so we're relying on users being willing to do tests so we can figure out the cause. I've ...

Re: How to set subtitle font as bold?

@Larus That's very strange. Please uploads debug files as described in red above so we can see if there's some kind of problem on UMS' side.
