Re: PS3 networking crashes after latest update
Then it just might be a networking issue, I would start looking at connections, cables, switch etc.

Re: UMS not detecting any of my devices
It may not be the powerline that is the problem, rather the port the powerline is plugged into on the hub, according to the forums there appears to be a drop off of data transfer to the point that it can fall below 10Mb. But 1 of those is a gigabit cant remember which one though. If it said it was a...

Re: UMS not detecting any of my devices
I would agree with Speedy.....this is not meant to be a suck eggs question.....is it a switch or a hub....as there is difference in both, or it may be simply that the port the powerline is plugged into is faulty. Which port is your powerline plugged into the BT Home Hub, I scrapped mine due networki...

Re: No music showing up
I am thinking that this is better as well. I have tried everything to get WMP as a client to UMS. I am coming to the conclusion that this cannot be done. I thought that was what UMS was good for and so far it fits a couple of these. Personally, I do not use WMP but the wife does and I can get "...

Re: No music showing up
Hi, as an end user like yourself I'm trying to understand why you would want UMS to service WMP, simple samba shares on your Linux server would surfice. I use UMS via Linux to play through to my PS3 or Xbox, my windows PC's simply see the Linux shares and add them to their WMP libraries.

Re: Conection to server failed
Personally this sounds more like a networking issue......what router are you using? The problem appears to be once the network becomes 'active' i.e. data transfer, and my guess would be the router. Another thought which has happened to me does UMS 'lock up', and you can't close it down and a force c...

Re: Adding another device
Hi, you wouldn't have to do any of that, if the folder on the PC is shared and she can see the shared folder on her laptop, then all you need is a media player such as VLC installed on the laptop and open the file from within VLC.

Re: Forced Subtitles?
- Move [MEncoder] engine at 1st position in preference (no need browsing to TRANSCODE folder when set) - enable switching to tsMuxeR when transcoding is not needed (recommended so transcoding will be used only when it is needed (no subs, video compatible) - lower bitrate/CPU usage) Hm...sort...
