DVD playback
For some reason trying to play a dvd from the harddrive on my tv does not work. The content of the folder is shown as title 1, title 2 etc. But trying to play it only gives me a black screen for one or two seconds and then returns to the folder content. I am running Mint 17 and the Java 7 version. I...

Panasonic TX-L37E30 won't always start playing
Recently I have upgraded to 5.2.3 and decided to give the original PanasonicViera.conf a try. Mostly, this works great but often, a file refuses to start. After a few attempts it will eventually start though. Tv says "please wait" and after a minute or so tells me it can't read the file. M...

Re: Version 5.2.3 is released
Isn't it possible to just put that working .conf file in the renderers folder of 5.2.3? That is what I did with my (modified) Panasonic_Viera.conf and it works just fine.

Re: .WTV Support
Maybe a simple solution might be to rename the file extension. To, say, yourfile.mp4 without actually converting it. You might want to try just one or so for testing it first.

Re: Problem with audio sync (Panasonic TV)
This is something that happens on my Panasonic TX-L37E30E as well sometimes. Although I always use transcoding, I am able to fast forward, rewind, pause and resume. When things are out of sync I simply pause for a second or three and resume. 99% of the time everything is back in sync, Not sure if th...

Re: [Tutorial] Installing UMS 4.4.0 on Ubuntu Server 14.04.1
Seems like I'm stuck here. I ran Ubuntu five years ago, 10.04, and things were way different. All I can do for you is put Ubuntu 14.04 on a USB stick, run it from there and figure out how things are in Ubuntu. Personally, I run Linux Mint 17 (Petra) with Cinnamon. Mate would also be a good choice th...

Useful hint for Panasonic Viera E30 series
Having tried just about anything I could find on this forum or anywhere else, I found an almost perfect and simple solution for my Panasonic TX-L37E30E which uses Panasonic-Viera.conf. In the .conf file I commented (#) the line: "TranscodeVideo = MPEGTS-H264-AC3" Now all files that need tr...

Re: [Tutorial] Installing UMS 4.4.0 on Ubuntu Server 14.04.1
Oops, I meant run the file called UMS.sh instead of opening it in some text editor. For as far as the desktop icon (launcher or starter), I was under the impression you used Linux Mint. Nevertheless, There is always a way to put a shortcut on the desktop. If you want to let me find out how, I need t...

Re: [Tutorial] Installing UMS 4.4.0 on Ubuntu Server 14.04.1
There is no .deb file indeed. It is a .tgz file which you should unpack. Once unpacked you open the folder where the files are and open the UMS.sh file. You should see some questions which you can answer YES or NO to. Then UMS UI will start. Now, what I did was this: Rightclick on your desktop (rand...
