The naming convention is S01E01.eng.srt or S01E01.en.srt, S01E01.por.srt or S01E01.pt.srt etc. All available external subs are listed in TRANSCODE folder.

I tried to reproduce the error but it works for me correctly. @skeptical here is the log of Upnp 3.

You did something wrong. I see in the debug.log that you have disabled all renderes so the VizioSmartTV-test.conf was not used. Please check the selected renderers and test again. And don't forget before testing set the log level to trace.
