@SubJunc: Unfortunately the Johnvansickle build didn't work well:

Random movie: Success
MKV movie with embedded subtitle: No success
Live TV media (Channels SVT1): No success
On demand media (Channes SVTPlay): No success

Tested with UMS 4.1.2 and Samsung renderer.

Haven't checked the debug, but it feels a bit too poor success. But this excerpt from the readme in the build can explain why web content doesn't work:

A limitation of statically linking glibc is the loss of DNS resolution.
Use "ffmpeg -i http://<ip address here>/" instead of "ffmpeg -i http://example.com/"

Now, in my own build (working) I also configured the choice of static building but I didn't get any problems. But maybe that configuration flag does not apply to glibc automatically?
