Linux VFR Support

Post by Hoobadank »

Let me start by saying what kind of file I have. I am trying to play a subtitled anime mkv with a vfr. I used to get around the vfr on a windows machine by using the avisynth/mencoder. I have recently switched to a linux machine and from my limited experience, it seems that avisynth is not made for linux. How can I play a vfr mkv with subtitle on a linux machine?

Hi Hoobadank,
AFAIK MEncoder supports VFR inputs. Have you tried that?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. How would i do that? I have tried going to the Transcoding Settings, selecting the mencoder engine and clicking force framerate parsed from ffmpeg and that did not work. I also tried adding -mc 0 -noskip to the custom parameters and that also did not work.

Did you try doing it with a fresh config without changing anything?
