Systray icon is weird

Post by Patricf »

Hi,

I'm running Openbox with Tint2 and when I start UMS I get an icon in the systray that looks really low-res, here's and image: Image
Does anyone know how to fix this? It's really annoying..

Yeah I noticed that too, it's weird. The icon file we use has lots of resolutions stored in it so I don't know why Linux can't pick the right one

I am using kubuntu 12.04 and I also have issues with the icon in the systray. The transparency of the image is gone and it looks weird.

Can it be awt not being the way to go on Linux when displaying systray icons. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3314 ... background

This has always bugged me too, but since the only "workaround" is to implement custom rendering code it isn't worth the trouble I think. A halfway solution would be to create a nice-looking square linux icon that doesn't depend on transparency.
