Mplayer thumbs

Post by inkrypted »

Mplayer thumbs works fine in Windows but not in Linux. I am running openSUSE 12.3. I thought it might be because I had Mplayer installed because of PS3 media server so I uninstalled it and scrubbed all traces. I also tried deleting the binary that came with UMS and still no luck. I double checked that the included binaries were executable. Anyone have any more suggestions why Mplayer thumbs might not work?

To anyone else who has this issue, First quit the server and make sure you have Mplayer, FFMPEG, and Mencoder installed. Delete the Mplayer, FFMPEG and Mencoder binaries that came preinstalled from your UMS directory and copy the binaries from your /usr/bin directories to the UMS directory and restart the server.

Also if you have problems playing some MP4 videos download PS3 Media Server and use the ps3.conf render from that.. I also had to do that with the Windows version too.

UMS use dcraw, you need to enable mplayer in config to make thumbnails
server: C2D [email protected] 3GB RAM
network: wired 1000MB/s
render: LG 55LM620S, Samsung LE40C650, PS3
OS: Linux 13.10 64bit
