Optimization under Linux (VDPAU)

Post by NaMoUr »

Hi,

I use PS3 Media Server but want to try Universal Media Server.

My media server is an Pentium IV HT 3.2GHz with GeForce 210 video card under Debian and my client is a Sony Bravia TV.
This old configuration is breathless with 720p MKV as well as SD H264.

My goal is to use VDPAU given by my video card to improve performance, I just would like to know which 3rd component is used to make transcode in order to try to compile it with VDPAU support ? 'I see Mencoder somewhere, FFMepg in another way, MPlayer somewhere else, so I am confuse...)
But am I right to say that 3rd component is used ?

Sorry for my poor english, it's well known that french people only speak french.

Hi NaMoUr, by default MEncoder (MPlayer) is used for transcoding :)
