UMS 7.7.1 video squashed down to narrow letterbox

Using Mac Pro running Sierra 10.12.6, have upgraded UMS to 7.7.1 and now the video display is viewing as a very narrow (height) letterbox.
I have on the same Mac Pro another installation of Sierra 10.12.6 on a separate disk, this has UMS 7.5.0 installed and the video displays the correct proportions.
All settings on both UMS versions are the same.
Is this a problem with the latest version of UMS.
