Playback pauses/freezes after a few minutes (PS3)
I am using UMS (Mac) for playing video (MKV) on a PS3 (both are wired). I am using MEncoder because of subtitles. The play works mostly well, but after a few minutes (around 5) the playback freezes. When I pause the playback and wait for a few minutes, I can start the play again for just a few minutes.
I changed the "maximum bandwidth" and "transcode buffer size" a few times, but that did not change any of the experience. Years ago, I used PS3 Media Server and never had this problem. I even had an older iMac.
It seems something is filling during stream, and when it is full the play has to pause to empty. But I don't know what it is. My iMac is just 2 years old and has 8 GB memory. Does anyone have an idea what is causing the problem? Could it be java related?
