[SOLVED] subtitles problem

Post by pyraylos »

hello. whenever i try to playback a movie that has subtitles in the same folder i get the error message "unsupported file type". if i remove the subs file the movie plays ok. i tried to change the extension from srt to ass/ssa/txt but no luck. currently i have the 6.0.0-b1 version installed but i had this problem with 5.4 and 5.3 versions as well. i'm running yosemite(10.10.5).

The problem is most likely that transcoding doesent work.

If you remove subtitle, your renderer/device is probably able to stream the file directly (no coding)
And because your device is not able to read subtitles seperately/externally, UMS tries to solve this by transcoding the video with "burned-in" subtitles (which fails in your case )

To get help, the best thing you can is to follow the Problem Reporting Guidelines

i found the solution. i changed the 'default renderer when automatic detection fails' to 'panasonic tv' and now subtitles work. thanks for the help anyway.
