Testing UMS Built with JRE 7

Post by Optimus_prime »

Here's the latest version built with JRE 7
Use with care, post issues in this forum:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/unimed ... %20Builds/

As of late ive been building UMS with JRE 7.
I've had little to no issues, i've seen no difference between Subjunks official builds and my own.
Just thought i'd post to see if anyone else wants to try it out or if anyone has been doing the same.
Let me know and i'll post them.

Is there anything different in 2.4.2 from 2.4.1? Or did you just use that version number because you built it with JDK7?

As i only built it 2 hours ago that was what was in UMS's Git repo.
The developers have cycled to the next version number for the next release. Can't see any differences myself. It's working fine on my end, or i wouldn't have posted it. :D

Yeah, I'm not sure what they're adding in 2.4.2. So far a fix for the XBox issue I think. Not sure what else. Does the JRE7 build run any faster?

I think the official builds will all be built with JDK7 soon. JRE6 gets one final build in a few days and then is no longer going to be supported by Java.

Which plugins do you use usually?

Channels and MovieInfo
i don't have much need for them though.
The little time i get to use my tv (when my family isn't using it) i generally watch my shows/movies and turn it off.
Some look pretty good though, UMS has come a long way from when i started using it (I started with PS3-MS)

Yeah, I highly recommend Jumpy. It's probably the best plugin.
