Web Player

Post by gabriels »

The flowplayer used for the web server is nice but it does not play on platforms like Windows RT, iOS and others not supporting Flash.
I found this open source which http://www.videojs.com works with HTML5.
I think this is the way to go these days.
With all due respect to Flash, HTML 5 for video playing is the way to go.

In the 5.0 branch we use ogg as the transcode format which most browsers can play as native html5 video. Flash is still possible as a fallback.
We reject: kings, presidents and voting.
We believe in: rough consensus and running code.

I thought ogg is an audio format. I now learned it supports video.
Cool.
