Are you have the proper Java Runtime version installed ?

On a mac UMS won't work with Java 9 or 10 versions.

@Erick,

Are you sure you are using a Mac ?

Due to your response, I tested again but to no prevail.

All Java 9 and up are not recognised when opening UMS on my Mac.

Rolling back to Java version 8.171 made things work again.

Hello I just switched from 6.80 to 7.01 and when I use the prettify filenames option its adding a 1 in front of all my episode numbers for example filename - 03.mkv is showing up in the list as filename 103. this is very confusing. is there a fix for this other than turning of the prettify option?

katero that is on purpose because the "1" is the season number. I assume you are talking about anime which often has only one season and then they change the name of the show for the second season, but that isn't always the case and I wanted to make it more consistent with English TV series'. Maybe we should make a vote thread to decide whether anime should just leave out the season in that case

V 7.01 is still crashing for me after about 3 days with Java Heap Space Errors.
And that is without even using UMS but just having the renderers on.
I've got it in TRACE mode now, but the log is 602 Mb after just one day. I'm guessing the log will be well over 1 Gb by the time it crashes again.
Running on Gentoo Linux in Headless mode.

Running UMS in the TRACE mode for so long time is not a good idea. This setting is only for the testing purpose. When renderers are on than they communicate with UMS to inform each other that they are still alive and all that communication is stored in the log which can grow fast.

@valib
I don't run UMS in TRACE mode normally.
Isn't running UMS in TRACE mode normally required when a problem exists?

EG: If UMS is crashing with Java Heap Space errors, don't I need to run it in TRACE mode for someone to see if they can see the cause.
If not, I'm open to suggestions as to what logs I should post.

Or, to put it another way:
In V7.0.1, UMS crashes after 2 -3 days with Java Heap Space errors. What is my next step to seek help with this problem?

Thanks

@boss you are right. My bad that I read your comment in wrong way. Can you provide the 602 Mb log to see why is so big? Or log after half of the day the UMS is running?
