Version 5.3.0 is released

Post by SubJunk »

General:

You can download it from the front page.

This release makes the window save its size and position, improves transcoding quality and speed, fixes many bugs, and more.

Important note: From now on we are releasing builds only for Java 7+. If you need builds for Java 6, our older releases are still available.

Changes since 5.2.3:

    • Fixed the use of UMS profiles
    • Made automatic updater more stable
    • Improved detection of write permissions
    • Improved plugin installation support
    • Made profile a possible command line argument
    • Improved speed when reading shared folders
    • Fixed several bugs
  • Renderers:
    • Disabled folder thumbnails on Apple iOS apps
    • Improved support for VLC for iOS
    • Panasonic TVs use higher-quality thumbnails
  • External Components:
    • Updated FFmpeg for Windows to 7c8fcbb, which increases transcoding quality and speed
    • Updated h2database to 1.4.190
    • Updated Maven Assembly plugin to 2.6

testing as well, 2 things not quite working right:

>The main window saves its size and position
it works but once you maximize the window, quit the server and relaunch it, the window size is not what it was before maximizing and is not maximized on start.

it fills the desktop but the title bar is up high above the screen and the bottom part of ums is hidden behind the taskbar.

essentially keep the "normal" size for future ref in ums.conf and window mode (normal, maximized).

right now it just looks like ums reads the screen resolution and messes it up.

the other problem is here viewtopic.php?p=20832#p20832
Win 10 64bits
Qnap TS-212 2x3TB WD Red
Sony Bravia MN (my own conf)

Recent UMS user and really impressed. What I have noticed after two upgrades now is that UMS seems to forget to auto-start with Windows after the upgrade. This happened when I upgraded to 5.2.3 and now to 5.3.0. Both times I chose a clean install, and UMS shows in the auto-start. Any ideas?

Windows 10 64 bit running UMS Java 8.

EDIT: Complete removal of the older version and all traces and a clean install doesn't resolve the auto-start issue either.

The OSX version doesn't work for me. I can't even start the app. I'm still on Snow Leopard; maybe it does not support Java 7?

Hi guys, I have a problem with a new 5.3.0. Most of my video files won't open. Videos that worked flawlessly on 5.2.3. I have to use transcoding, which is no fun at all. :) My TV just say that "file could not be read" or something like that. I've attach two debug zips. Any ideas? I've installed(and reinstalled) both with "clean install" option checked and I haven't alter any of the default settings after installation expect for navigating it to my movie folder on my PC. I have latest Java8 installed and I've tried both Java7 and Java8 version of 5.3.0.

Debugs:

Thanks for your help and for you work!

No *.ISO or *.VOB streaming anymore in UMS:

Is the issue still unsolved or is this intended and on purpose?

FWIW, I've been searching the forums for a solution to this as well. Taken the same steps as well as trying to install as a service. No luck.

That being said, I love this program.
