Installed Service & Dashboard

Just wondering why if I install UMS as a service, and I want to use the Dashboard to make some adjustments does it attempt to open two UMS and give a Port Error because it is trying to open a second UMS on port 5001?

Is that supposed to happpen? Sometimes I open the Dashboard to watch what is happening or to make some changes. Do I have to stop the Service first and then open the Dashboard?
