mkv = avi?
mkv = avi?
Hello,
my TV is registered as "[TV] Samsung 6 Series (55)" in UMS. When I scroll trough my movies all the mkv movies show up as avi. It works, everything is ok so far. But it would be more accurate to show them as mkv. No?

Re: mkv = avi?
Seems like your TV is not properly recognised. Please follow viewtopic.php?f=9&t=556 and send the log.
Re: mkv = avi?
Can be. I investigated little by myself and I found:
The renderer thats found for my TV is Samsung-CD.conf. If I look into this file I see:
# Supported video formats:
Supported = f:avi|mkv m:video/avi
Supported = f:flv m:video/mp4
Supported = f:mov m:video/quicktime
Supported = f:mp4|mpegps|mpegts m:video/mpeg
So maybe I'm wrong but I changed the lines into:
# Supported video formats:
Supported = f:avi m:video/avi
Supported = f:mkv m:video/x-matroska
Supported = f:flv m:video/mp4
Supported = f:mov m:video/quicktime
Supported = f:mp4|mpegps|mpegts m:video/mpeg
and now the file recognition works. Anyway playing works anyway before and after.
PS: I think the TV is properly recognised. Its a SmartTV from the 6000 series and 55' screen.
