Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I have made a couple of minor changes to the UMS.conf file but I get the same result with the current one or the one before.
Perhaps you are thinking of someone else because the first time you looked at one of my issues was a few weeks ago.
Previous to that SubJunk and Nadahar had only looked at my issues.

These changes to UMS.conf were only:
From: mpeg2_main_settings =
To: mpeg2_main_settings = Automatic (Wireless)
And
From: x264_constant_rate_factor =
To: x264_constant_rate_factor = Automatic (Wireless)

I think the simplest way (in English) that I can put it is:
My LG WebOS 3.5 TV is not using the LG-WebOS config file or any other config file.
For some reason, the TV looses its registration and just streams instead of doing any transcoding.
And this causes:

Files that my LG TV can stream work fine, except if they have *.srt subtitle files. If there are *.srt subtitle files the video will stop, start & buffer etc and are not watchable.
If I remove the *.srt subtitle files the videos play fine. Also if I play the videos from an external hard drive they work fine with subtitles.

If I watch the same videos with the subtitles on my LG-BP550 Bluray players (which work fine with the LG-BP550.conf file and transcodes), then they play fine.

Thanks

I don't see anyone else except me and you here, so that mean that you have posted many time that same issue in other part of this forum.
Whatever, bump your old post should be strongly prefered, as it give us informations on what have been done and shared, and avoid to cluster the forum...

You renderer is recognized:

So, from what i finally understand, it that you have a transcoding issue, as you said that streaming is fine, and for that it need to use your renderer. Nothing about renderer issue here, AFAICU.
But nothing about transcoding issue in your log, as you didn't reproduced that issue into your log before post it, as explained in the link i given to you.
Supposed that i finally get a more usefull log, i could try to make a build for you to test.

I have never posted about this issue with my LG TV before. I don't know why you think that but this is the first time.
In fact I have only owned the LG TV for a few weeks.

In a previous post (in this thread), you told me:
"Your renderer is correctly detected, so you don't need to set it as default and force it as you do (you can delete you tweak and additional renderer file)"

I did that and if you look at the log I sent it looks like it does not use the LG-WebOS.conf file but now uses the LG-LA6200.conf instead. (from what I can see)
The LG-LA6200.conf file is a bit of a generic conf file for LG devices which does no transcoding.
From the LG-LA6200.conf file:
StreamExtensions = asf,wmv,avi,divx,mp4,m4v,mov,3gp,3g2,mkv,ts,trp,tp,mts,m2ts,vob,mpg,mpeg,mp3,jpg,jpeg,jpe,jps,mpo

I have produced another trace log (with my tweaked LG-WebOS.conf file so it uses it) and have played 2 videos.
Video 1 is "The Americans S01E12 - The Oath.mp4" which has no subtitles and plays fine.
Video 2 is "Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D S01E01 Pilot.mp4" which has srt subtitles and has the problem.

LGs WebOS 3.5 is the latest version of LG's WebOS system and is in all their new TV's. I'm sure you would want these new LG TV's to be able to work properly with UMS and I am happy to do any testing you require.

Thanks

Thanks for the WebOS conf file. I did test my TV with that and the result was the same. It would not actually start any videos which had "srt" subtitle files with the video.
Remove the "srt" subtitle file and the video works fine.

I also tested with a modified V7 UMS you supplied (because my renderers were not showing up UMS) and the result was the same. The modified V7 UMS you supplied me is from this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10388&p=32216#p32216

So to sum it up:
Using my LG-BP550 blue ray players & UMS, the videos with "srt" subtitle files play fine.
Using my LG TV (WebOS 3.5) & UMS, the videos with "srt" subtitles will not start.
I can paly videos with "srt" subtitles from an external hard drive from the TV (if this info is relevant).

I am happy to assist in any testing to try and get through this issue.

Thank you Sami32 and SubJunk for your support.

@boss
Previous to that SubJunk and Nadahar had only looked at my issues.
Well, it's how my weak english understanding translate this.

You seem fixed to SRT, but i suspect that videos with any other subtitles (ASS, SUB, TXT...), embedded or external, should have the same issue, and in general, any videos files need to be transcoded.
Is that correct ?

Hi Sami32,

No I haven't fixed the "srt" subtitle issue on my LG TV.
They work fine on my LG-BP550 bluray playes but not with my LG TV.

Problem still exists with my LG TV and UMS

Hi boss,

OK, we still misunderstood each other.

Do ASS, TXT or SUB subtitles work fine ?

Hi sami32,

I only have "srt" subtitles but I will find some of the other types and test.
When I have tested I will report back.

Thanks

As you are at testing, try to play / transcode that file and then report back, thanks.
