Sony UBP-X800

Post by MadHaTr »

I am trying to stream 4K HDR content to this machine and failing.

Firstly, UMS detects 3 of my UBP-X800 and 3 of my XBR-75X900F.

UMS seems to choose at random which 2 of the 3 UBP-X800 to use. Two have icons cause they load with the default sony blu ray conf and one had nothing so i loaded my own conf from the 2013 sony blu ray conf and added the height and width lines = 0. I also added a override conf with the height and width lines = 0 to the other one.

Sometimes I get it to play but my CPU is maxed out so I think it is transcoding to 1080p. When looking at the files through the player it shows it as a m2ts, which it is not it is mkv.

I split out a 3gb chunk and put it on a usb, the player recognized it as mkv and played it, though it said the TrueHD was not supported. Splitting the file may have caused an issue with the audio because the player does support TrueHD Atmos.

UPDATE EDIT:
When I add MKV to the exclusion list for transcoding it was working correctly with hevc/dtshd. For some reason hevc/truehd is not working even though it has been confirmed to support TrueHD Atmos via various reviewers.

Here is my conf file, i've added it to all three detections of my player just to be sure. Though it still tries to transcode files even though I have added hevc x265 to the supported line. Have i done this incorrectly?

The transcoding is happening because of internal subtitle. You should try to turn off the subtitle unless required.

Code: Select all

TRACE 2018-09-01 15:48:03.051 [Library Scanner] net.pms.dlna.DLNAResource This video has embedded subtitles that should be transcoded

Re: [Solved] Sony UBP-X800

Hi, sorry I was gone for so long.

I have Disable subtitles checked, so is this still my problem?

Edit: While I wait for help, is there a way to set UMS to not touch video and only transcode TrueHD?
