Since I haven't had a response in about a month I guess I'll try here in case someone else will notice. This is for the old Roku 2 model 2720X-B. I got 10 of them refurbished all over the house to replace crappy old set top boxes. It seems like the debug file isn't showing the step where it fails exactly. Someone mentioned it looked like 2 streams are being sent simultaneously.

This time another line stood out to me though:

Code: Select all

DEBUG 2015-11-22 13:35:26.735 [mplayer.exe-8-1] getch2: 6 can't get number of input events [disabling console input]
Ironclad17 wrote:Maybe the last log wasn't complete because the video playback didn't stop in the trace log.

I recreated the glitch and waited for the trace log to say playback had ended. These are the only relevant lines I noticed.

Is there a good test video I could try? I know the video is failing to render but despite that the audio renderer should work since I've been able to play mp3s or are separate audio files handled completely differently than audio tracks?
Does anyone with this model have a test video they would recommend trying to play instead?

Samples from log you provided don't have anything with the problem you described. There is only UMS making the thumbnail of the video. The log in TRACE mode you attached is more useful. It seems that your Roku doesn't support either mp4 videos or only that particular testing video. You can try to play this video from TRANSCODE folder which you have to enable to show at the Navigation/Share Settings page. Or you can set

Code: Select all

# Supported = f:mp4 v:h264|mp4 a:aac|lpcm|mp2|mp3 n:2 m:video/mp4
and all mp4 videos will be transcoded.

You can also test which combination of video and audio formats your Roku supports. The testing videos you can download at http://sourceforge.net/projects/unimedi ... z/download and you can test which combination is working and inform us to be able to change Roku.conf properly.

EDIT: for you and others. The intention of this topic is to ask users to make and test configuration for renderers we not own to help us. To ask support from us there is a topic General Help and Support where is also described how to ask for support.

The PS4 can stream .srt subtitles if you enable closed captioning support in the settings. I added (copied from some other conf file)

Code: Select all

# Supported subtitles formats:
SupportedExternalSubtitlesFormats = SUBRIP
to the PS4.conf file and it works for me. The PS4 currently does not seem to do .ass or any embedded subtitles.

Device:

Philips 6700 series 50'' with Android

when i use VLC player or android default multimedia app, i get "no files in device"

When i use KODI, work ok, but 4K is too slow, like a PS4 game in ATARI.

It is impossible to transcode on-the-fly 4K videos unless you have the most powerfull PC. From the log I see that you only set for your TV support for mkv videos but you don't set it for mp4 videos. Then mp4 videos are transcoded not streamed. If your TV supports the mp4 video try to add the "Supported" also for mp4 videos.

EDIT: you posted the issue to the wrong topic. Here we are asking for help from users not to help them. The propper place for your problem is the General Help and Support

Hi, I bought a Panasonic-VieraTX55CR430E. Attached are the .conf file I create to stream videos and a debug log with the only problem I encounter so far.
First of all I think that most of the features work so you can use it on the next release.
I only have two questions.
a) the only way to detect it automatically wasto set UserAgentSearch = NFLC/3.0 UPnP/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50 .(I found it from the debug logs.) kind of strange user agent isn't it???

b) even though I have managed to stream external subtitles I cannon stream videons with internal subtitles.
The debug logs I have attached are both scenarios (streaming correctly external and failing to stream internal)

CAn you please see if I am doing something wrong?
thank you.

Using arch linux 64bit and ums 6.1.0 with java 7.

HT1 wrote:i have a Qnap TS-212 NAS (not E or P) that UMS thinks is an ipad (always has).

Looking in the apple*.conf, ums looks for several things that apple do that my nas also does:
UserAgentSearch = Darwin|AppleCoreMedia|nPlayer|Twonky|8player|yxplayer2|MPlayer |NSPlayer/4|AirAV|AcePlayer
1. but i know Twonky is installed on my nas by default and looking for that alone isn't enough to confirm this is an apple device. More than just Apple devices use twonky.
2. Notice the os in the return string is Linux 3.4.6, i don't know if the ipad returns this too. that might be a clue to the device not being an apple device.
3. It might be a better place to start by looking for AppleCoreMedia, might be more reliable than looking for twonky. If itunes doesn't also return it (idk).

ps: if devs have a way to tell what the device trully returns when you ask for its user agent string i'd be curious to give it a try.
You can turn off the apple.conf and restart UMS. Than next time your device connects to UMS, the full UserAgent string will get logged.

AppleCoreMedia usually only shows up when selecting AirPlay from one of the other apps on the above list, as the AppleTV 3 and other iOS devices have no native DLNA support. For instance using Twonky Beam on an iPhone and than selecting to AirPlay to an AppleTV3 (before AppleCodeMedia and Twonky were added to the same config file) would cause UMS to think the renderer has changed... resulting in the selected video from stopping.

I can upload logs for a few of the applications in apple.conf for the developers to refine their renderer identification. All in one log file, or separate?
I can cover Infuse, nPlayer, Twonky Beam, (maybe Skifta), and airplay to the AppleTV 4 (no longer have the 3).

Hello UMS team!

Until now i have no problems with my devices but last time i upgrade my Android to 6.0.1 (from 5.1) and now UMS doesn't found it. I use YAACC from F-Droid on Android and never have problems, but now UMS didn't detect it, nor other apps on Android helps.

Here is my trace debug:

Edit: Version 6.2.2 fix it. Thanks!

Panasonic DX750 owner here, running UMS 6.2.2.
Previously I have been using WD TV Live and sometimes a PS3 to stream, without any problems.

On the Panasonic everything is flawless, except Pause->Resume doesn't work properly.
When I hit resume (it sometimes takes a few seconds to respond) the audio is gone and the (internal) subs drop out. Then the subs come back, but while the audio may come back it is broken (out of sync, drops out again, etc.). It doesn't seem to resume in a "proper" state.

In UMS I have enabled caching, and also tried to enable "video resuming", but playing the resume-file that is created after UMS restart exhibits the same symptoms.

Attached is the debug with the trace log of me starting/stopping/resuming a file.
