My Wolfgang AT-AS50SE phone died.
I now bought a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and tested the MX Player config file with this device.
I can confirm this config also works fine with this phone :)
however I found some issues in the previous config.
Here an update for the BubbleUPnP/MX Player renderer config file:

Read the config file for required software the change log and issues.

Thanks for the update dude! It's disappointing that transcoding doesn't work properly with MX player. I have a lot of 10-bit files that I cannot play well on my Nexus 7 without transcoding. CDB-Man says that the dev will is fixing the transcoding issues but he's taking his time.

EDIT: This is is...strange...I just tested transcoding out for shits and giggles and it seems to be working (at least better) now? The file I tested is the same file I always test: [Meguca]_Puella_Magi_Madoka_Magica_-_01_[BD][h264-1080p_FLAC][462E256B] - This is a Hi10p file so when I play it on my Nexus 7 via UMS with no transcoding, there are many, many frame drops and the audio drops out a lot. The easiest way to enable transcoding on a file, at least for hi10p files, is to enable ""Encoded audio passthrough for AC-3 and DTS" in UMS under "transcoding settings". For the first time ever, I got past the minute-ish mark in MX Player on a transcoded video. To my knowledge, they haven't fixed any of the network buffering bugs which is what is supposedly breaking transcoding (apparently it will be fixed with 1.8). I only watched two minutes of the episode but I've never gotten that far before. Can you try and see if you get any results?

Hey Tyestor,

I tested your mentioned .mkv file with Hi10P profile with my Galaxy S6.

The video plays fine with the MX Player but only when it is not transcoded by UMS.
I can fairly fast seek through the movie, styled subtitles are displayed and I had no sound issues.
The MX Player SW-decoder is was hereby used.
The HW-decoder and HW+-decoder failed with this file.

But when this file is transcoded by UMS it starts fine, but the playback stops after some minutes.

Only DVD ISO file transcoding by UMS works good, where the whole movie is played with the MX Player.
When transcoding other video formats, the transcoding proces stops somehow way to early.
I tried to fix it with the available UMS configuration settings, but failed.

Hopefully you are right, that this bug will be fixed with a future MX Player release.

I have updated the Android MX Player renderer profile.
It is now compatible with the officially in the Google Play Store available MX Player codec.

Changes since v1.3:
- Changed MIME Type for Monkey's Audio (ape) format. (Support with BubbleUPnP audio player seems broken)
- Changed transcode profile from MPEGPS-MPEG2-AC3 to MPEGTS-H264-AAC
- Disabled support for DTS, AC3, E-AC-3 and MPL audio codecs
