I have a UA46ES5600 that defaults to the Samsung-nonCD.conf and a UA46f5500 that defaults to the Samsung-CD.conf.
I am trying to play h.265 on them as h.264 and actually succeeded once by adding some code, but have since lost that setup.
Ex: suits.s05e07.720p.hdtv.hevc.x265.rmteam.mkv
Can you help me?

Try to create an specific profile for each TVs so you can tweak & optimize the settings. Follow http://www.universalmediaserver.com/faq ... erSupport1 (easier to start your own profile from any of the closer existing ones, ie copy and modify a Samsung series F and ES profile to your needs)

It is necessary for us to transcode H.265/HEVC videos for playback on 4K HD TV with a professional H.265/HEVC encoder/decoder

In other words use a program that converts the H265 file into a container the HDTV can play? UMS already does that so there's no need for a separate program.

I have an h6400 and made some tests with h265/hevc files and worked OK thru UMS, no transcoding required (it's preconfigured already in the profile BTW https://github.com/UniversalMediaServer ... H6400.conf).

Thanks. I replaced/added these lines to my config. Seems to work for h.265 on my Samsung 46f5500.

Supported = f:mpegps v:divx|h264|mjpeg|mp4|mpeg1|mpeg2|sor|vc1|vp6|wmv a:aac|aac-he|ac3|adpcm|dts|eac3|lpcm|mp3|wma m:video/mpeg
Supported = f:mpegts v:divx|h264|h265|mjpeg|mp4|mpeg1|mpeg2|sor|vc1|vp6|wmv a:aac|aac-he|ac3|adpcm|dts|eac3|lpcm|mp3|wma m:video/mpeg

MPEGTS-H265-AC3 H.265 (HEVC) AC-3 MPEG-TS Only FFmpeg outputs H.265, others will output H.264
MPEGTS-H265-AAC H.265 (HEVC) AAC MPEG-TS Only FFmpeg outputs H.265, others will output H.264
