Can a PC be a renderer?

Post by mattanfang »

I see UMS in my network places but when I go into it some of the folders are not showing up correctly in Windows 10 and I am unable to play the files. Is there a way around this besides just using the web interface? Thanks for your help everyone!

If you are running the UMS on the other PC running on Windows you don't need it. Simply share the folder with videos. If not you can use e.g. VLC to browse and play media from the UMS.

Yeah you can use VLC with some setting changes to play the files.

On a side note, how would I set up 2 pcs on the same wifi to share the folders? It's been years since I've been taught how to do this properly. Can someone explain how?
