Profile for renderer Samsung 4K (UHD SUHD)

Post by SurfaceS »

Profile wrote for all Samsung UHD and SUHD since 2014.

Working for (HUXXXX, JUXXXX, JSXXXX, KUXXXX, KSXXXX) and surely futures series
As Samsung recently update their firmware, all these models are capable of the same render (uniform codec package).
Samsung-UHD.conf

This profile is better than (and replace) Samsung-HU7000.conf, Samsung-HU9000.conf and Samsung-JU6400.conf as it allow more render capabilities and UHD streams.
So these 3 files should be deleted if you want to use it with HU7000, HU9000 and JU6400 models.
Others Samsung UHD TV had no conf file yet.

I have not included WEBVTT subtitles format (it was on the JU6400 conf file) as I don't see any specification in all Samsung manual, even for JU6400.
Feel free to add it if you want at your risk.

Any feedback is welcome. ;)

This does not work for a UN65HU8550 as it will not use this profile for some reason. I select it for the TV and it will change to defaultrenderer.conf. Does it have something to do with the line UpnpDetailsSearch = U[NEA]\d{2}[H-Z][SU]\d{4}.*(Samsung TV)?

Yes, that's the match string.

Dear all,
now I own a Samsung KS7090 (55") and I want to stream 4K UHD videos but it is very stutteringly.
UMS hardware is:
- Intel Core2Quad Q8400 2.66 GHz
- 8 GB RAM
- Gigabit Network

CPU is around 60% and network is around 15% while streaming 4k but it is stuttering.

HD (1080p) is running fine.

Any suggestions which settings I could check to optimize?
