nvidia shield k1
when i load up bubbleupnp on the shield k1 tablet ums doesnt find the renderer but when i load it up on my nexus 7 ums finds it and it works perfect. Cant someone please help me figure this out.

Your K1 is not recognized by any media server, if i understood you correctly, so it have nothing to do with UMS, but with enabling DLNA on your K1.
And, AFAIK, it can be done by software application only.
