Subtitle Always White (Samsung Series 6)

Post by amonteiro »

Hello!

No matter what i try, the external subtitle always shows white instead of yellow. :?

Can anybody show a config that make the external subtitles yellow?

The Samsung TV has an option to modify size and border colour, but not the colour of the text.

Tested with Universal Media Server 6.7.2 and 7.0.0-rc1
Windows 10 x64

I used the old renderer of my old TV, just for curiosity, and the subtitles are yellow again. :D

I'm only afraid that i loose some new function of the new TV... because my old TV was a Panasonic, an old one.

This is because your new TV handles the subtitles while your old one did not. If your new TV does not allow you to change the subtitle color, you will have to transcode the video over to the new TV like it was doing with your old one. You could use the Transcode folder or edit the new TV's config file so that it doesn't stream the subs over.

Can you help me do this?

I will upload the old and the new renderers.

Panasonic-Viera is the old, and Samsung-UHD is the new.

Many thanks!

You can simply delete the

Code: Select all

SupportedExternalSubtitlesFormats
and

Code: Select all

SupportedInternalSubtitlesFormats
in the renderer.conf and all videos with subtitles will be transcoded but there is an disadvantage of that solution when the video quality is degraded (depending on the video quality and maximum bandwith setting).
