My Samsung TV doesn't detect UMS

Post by Khorox »

Hi everyone,

Since the windows 10 Creator update, I can't use UMS from my Samsung TV UE40H6400. But from UMS, I can see the TV.

I tryed to turn off the firewall, add rules for UDP and TCP1900 2869 5011 port.
I tryed to uninstall properly (+CCleaner) UMS AvySynth and Java 8, and reinstall with different version 6.6.0 (with java7) - 6.7.2 - 6.7.3 - 7.0.0. I dont remember the version of my previous UMS, but I used it since a few years.
I start UMS with administrator mod
UMS doesn't start with windows. Something block it I think, but I dont know what.

Someone can help me plz ? :)

UMS seems to be working fine from what I can see in your log, but I think your network configuration is a bit questionable. On your computer I can find:
  • 192.168.234.1
  • 192.168.64.1
  • 192.168.1.43
Since nothing is configured, UMS is picking 192.168.234.1 as it's server address, which might not be what you want (It seems to be a VMWare adapter).

UMS then finds "SoundTouch 30 Flo" at address 192.168.1.40, "SetTopBox/neufboxtv" on 192.168.1.84 and your router on 192.168.1.1.

I don't know which one (if any) is your Samsung TV and what subnet masks you use, but if your using 255.255.255.0 masks UMS (being bound to 192.168.234.1) and the renderers on the 192.168.1.0 subnet won't be able to talk to each other. You might want to explicitly select the network interface for UMS to use (which I presume is 192.168.1.43).

Hi Nadahar,

You were right, the problem came of VMware. I uninstall it (I dont need it actually), and everything is back to normal.
I have VMWare on my computer since 6 month, but my problem with UMS since 2 month. The W10 creator update wasn't for nothing I think...

Well, thank you very much, i was beginning to despair.

Long live UMS !!!

I don't think you would have needed to uninstall it, you could probably just have picked the correct network interface in UMS' configuration. But, uninstalling it sure works too ;)
