The maximum thumbnail resolution is hardcoded. UMS will offer the renderer thumbnails in the maximum resolution and in a variety of lower resolutions. If you wish to increase the thumbnail size, that's currently not possible. The reason for this limit is that the thumbnails are a significant part of both the database size and the RAM use. If you want them smaller, you should look for settings in your renderer, although many doesn't have any.
