[Solved] Virus... Trojan:Win32/Ditertag.B

Post by MojoInTheSky »

When trying to update I was met with this virus from Windows Defender... Trojan:Win32/Ditertag.B

I tried getting the file from your site officially and it also hit me with this virus.

What's going on?

Thanks for letting us know about this false-positive detection. Please see the following website which shows the Windows installer is clear in 65 (100%) of antivirus scans. https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/4ea2e ... /detection

That is great that it tests clean on those services but it is kind of a moot point if Windows 10 is nuking it and not letting it run. Any solutions to that besides turning windows defender off?

We reported the issue to Microsoft and they said they fixed the detection. This was their message:
Thank you for your inquiry.

We have reviewed the file and we have removed the detection.

Please try the following steps to clear cached detections and obtain the latest malware definitions.

1. Open command prompt as administrator and change directory to c:\Program Files\Windows Defender
2. Run “MpCmdRun.exe -removedefinitions -dynamicsignatures”

The latest definition is available for download here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/definitions

Best regards,
