Re: AVI files not listed on BRAVIA KDL-32EX700

Its not only the fact the EX Sony lineup of TVs are DLNA with no "real" (so to speak) UPNP support but (look at your quoted code again) Sony have used their own named DLNA MIMEs within defined formats. (ALMOST all the ones that have "SONY.COM" in them. Look at any NON Sony log file on this forum example from an LG or a Samsung owner and you will find they do not do things like that.Nadahar wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 5:30 am This isn't really that complicated, the Bravia in the log posted in the first post in this thread lists support for the following:What is "special" with this TV (or unlike most other renderers) is that it almost only supports DLNA. Most renderers support a mix of DLNA profiles and more generic UPnP MIME types. UMS doesn't support DLNA for anything else than images, which explains why everything have to be transcoded. Most renderers that can stream from UMS does so via generic UPnP profiles that doesn't have the strict requirements of DLNA. There's a few exception, where special hacks have been implemented to mimic DLNA support, in particular for the PS3. That doesn't mean that there are real DLNA support, UMS has no idea of DLNA profiles, options and flags and the rules under which these must comply.Code: Select all

As mentioned ive been over this a bit before a looooong time ago in this thread here...
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2298&p=13269
and explained why in UMS you can not at least easily go about altering things to make it work like it would for TVs/devices that use REAL DLNA/MIME naming.
In serviio they get around it by renaming unconventional MIMEs Sony used back to SINGLE conventional naming...
https://github.com/augustf/serviio-prof ... ofiles.xml
^^^ Take a careful look at the start of that file and then search through for "BRAVIA" and look at sections particularly for the "name="Sony Bravia TV (2012)" extendsProfileId="1"" section to see how they have instructed Sony TVs to recognise several MIMEs which sony used as a single conventional MIME. Ive tried in the past to do this in UMS but with no luck, maybe you or other devs can do better.
I would not say my knowledge is in depth but i can kinda grasp why Sonys are a problem.SubJunk wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 4:00 pm We really appreciate your depth of knowledge on this Paradox and please continue to help us improve support. Maybe it can't be perfect but we can keep improving it and certainly we can fix any regressions we know about
Edit: Please let us know if the file provided by Valib fixes things for you, since we believe it should do the same thing that pre-6.7.3 did
As to Valibs attached conf file, NO that does not work properly or to be more precise does not work how i and others would want things to work. Like all versions since the 6.7x versions i have refered to in recent discussions It does not contain the

As said things worked better with regards to the SonyEX.conf file from versions prior to 6.72. To be honest though i really wish at the core of UMS something could be done to make SonyEX models recognised better, much like serviio and Plex has been able to do. The conf file AS IT USED TO BE, works but it is hardly elegent with all the transcode and video resizing options needed within it.
