PS4 Not Deteccting Any Longer

Post by jmiller77 »

Hello all,

I have been running UMS since the beginning of December on my new PC without any hiccups at all until today. Now it won't recognize UMS on my PS4 at all. I'm on Windows 10 and i've got the firewall completely shut down and i've even disabled my anti-virus as well just to be sure and I still haven't gotten anything to work. I've attached my full debug file to this thread so hopefully someone can tell me what I need to do to get it working again. Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to give me.

Also, FWIW, I've installed PLEX just to see if it would work and that server won't connect either. Hmm.

I looked in your log and can't see any signs of any communication from other devices. Since you have tested with the firewall off, there must be something with your network. It seems that UMS binds to a Wifi NIC using 192.168.11.0/24. I don't know if that is correct or not, but you should made sure that your PS4 has an IP address in the same subnet (that means, starting with 192.168.11).

UPnP/DLNA only works within the subnet, and aren't in practice "routable" (although there exists ways to configure routing but this is an advanced topic way beyond the scope of this support forum).

If your PS4 is indeed on the same subnet, you should try to cold restart (physically remove power for 5-10 seconds) your router. I have seen a few cases where routers has stopped passing on multicast messages due to some internal bug that is "magically" fixed once rebooted.
