[Solved] Can't play ANY videos on any device

Post by lamela123 »

Hello,
I just installed a fresh copy of UMS on my Windows server 2008. Installation was quite easy, but now I can't play any videos. I can play music files ok. There is an error showing up, but I can't figure it out. Also, there seems to be an exe file missing, called ffmpeg.exe. If I download the bin files for ffmpeg and copy them in Win32 folder of UMS, then every time I try to start playing video on any device, I get "ffmpeg.exe has crashed" on server.

I opened up some ports in firewall…
Inbound TCP (5001, 9001) UDP (1900)
Outbound TCP ( 5001, 5002, 9001) UDP (1900)

Can someone please help?

It seems like not correct instalation of the UMS. Not only ffmpeg.exe but also mediainfo.dll is missing. Without those programs the UMS will not work correctly. How do you install the UMS? Those programs are included in the package and should be installed automatically.
