Drop-outs

Post by netman63129 »

Hello all,
I use UMS primarily to play my iTunes playlists in my home cinema from the server in my office via the PS3. I recently upgraded iTunes to the latest version to support my iPhone 12. Prior to that, UMS had been working flawlessly for years. After the upgrade, playing MP3s results in short drop-outs at seemingly random times. I tried upgrading UMS from v6.7 to the latest v9.8.1. Something has changed...I am curious if anyone else has this issue and how you fixed it?
Thanks,
Mike

FYI I have enclosed the trace debug files...

I did notice that I was getting a port error in the log file so I changed the port several times. Regardless of what port number I use (5001, 5002, 5005, 5010, 5050), I get the same error. Also, my server has almost no other software installed and nothing should be using the default....

21:49:51 INFO Using address /192.168.1.2 found on network interface: name:eth5 (Realtek USB GbE Family Controller #2)
21:49:51 INFO Created socket: /192.168.1.2:5050
21:49:51 ERROR Another program is using port 5050, which UMS needs.
21:49:51 ERROR You can change the port UMS uses on the General Configuration tab.
21:49:53 INFO Universal Media Server is now available for renderers to find

Update: I changed the port back to 5001 and I am no longer getting the above error...strange...
