UMS 1.3.0 doesn't work for me

Post by vglotzer »

After installation and startup of the new version I get the following error message:

Error initializing PMS!
Configuration error: net.pms.PMS.registerPlayer(Lnet/pms/encoders/Player;)V

The previous version (1.2.1) worked just fine.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Thanks in advance!

Do you have pmsencoder installed? The function you seem to have an issue with is a deprcated one (I think). Try just to start without pmsencoder once. And if problem still occurs pls upload the logs (use the "Pack Debug" button found in the traces tab).

Hi SharkHunter,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, without pmsencoder it seems to work fine. I had the latest pmsencoder version (1.6.0) installed, or is there an even newer one?

The function registerPlayer that PMSencoder calls upon start has been deprecated (and removed) in both PMS and UMS. Until chocolateboy releases a new one this will not work. When he does that only he knows. This is bad and hopefully something that will be addressed better in UMS in the future.

Chocolateboy will probably release an updated version shortly before the next PMS update
