Documentation?

Post by VLM »

Is there any documentation for UMS, that I could read up front? Thanks!

Thanks. Sounds like this tools is for people who enjoy playing in the technology, as opposed to people who just want to set up a media server and enjoy it. Yes? Or does someone believe otherwise?

If you are not into tinkering and tweaking with all the options that UMS has to offer, you can just start doing a clean install with default settings; that should suit first timers.
Only make sure your rendering device that's actualy playing the media is on the list of supported devices.
If your UPNP device is not supported, you have to create your own renderer configuration file.
There is information on how to do that, but if you get stuck, you can always search for help via the renderers section of the forum.
Good luck and have fun!
