i too am trying to remember how i got my xbox to work... i think i had to port forward (UMS PORT) internally on its self.

for example:

This is not really applicable in my network.
All devices are routed by a Cisco 3750X.

So wait.. you have a big baller ass managed switch!? Jesus man... are you sure there isn't any configuration issue in that thing that's causing this!?

better question...

take that switch out of the picture (use a home router or something) does the xbox work with ums then?

Big Baller...that's me ;)

I would take that out of the equation if it wasn't for the fact that I can get it to work (a little) with my Denon x4000.
It also works with my Android phone and MediaHouse.
I'm pretty sure that rules out my core switch.
