Have a hell of a time getting Panasonic DMP-BD75 bluRay conf

Post by thrakazog »

:-)

Hello,
I'm new to the forum and to UMS. I'm trying to get a Panasonic DMP-BD75 BluRay to work with the media server, but it is intermittent. I can occasionally start playing a DVD/ISO title, but it will quickly stop streaming and there is sometimes a brief message on the TV display "cannot play." and it returns to the title list.

I've looked at the debug log file and there's nothing specific that solves the problem to me. (lack of experience) but I've seen debug output from when the title plays successfully and when it fails and there seems no difference other than the following blah, blah, blah...

Code: Select all

Re: Have a hell of a time getting Panasonic DMP-BD75 bluRay

Post by thrakazog »

I'd also like to point out that the reference to "User-Agent: IPI/1.0 UPnP/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50" is documented repeatedly in the debug.log file, but when I change the renderer from "Panasonic TV" to unknown renderer, and support all the renderers, it will resolve to "Visio Smart TV" because that is the string in their User-Agent string for the conf file.

One thing I see is that the media server starts to buffer the video, there is a tick of data streaming (perhaps by the status screen) and then it goes to zero and then the buffer is cleared.

Still have no idea if the problem is the server configuration, or the DLNA (panasonic BluRay player)...

:-)
Thanks for any and all advice!

Hi,
It seems that there is no renderer config file that works out of the box for your Panasonic BDP.
So you have to generate a renderer config file yourself.
How to do so, you can find in the FAQ: http://www.universalmediaserver.com/faq ... erSupport1
To create a working config file you need to find out what media format files are supported via streaming by your Panasonic.
If you run into detection problems and other renderer configurations get in your way, you can disable these renderers in the General Configuration tab (just press the Select renderers button near the bottom).
And don't forget to restart the server if you changed something in the renderer config file.
Hope it will get you started...
Good luck!

Oh, and if you run into problems with your configuration file, you can post your problem in the Media Renderers section of the forum.
Good chance that you will get support of other Panasonic users or experts in the forum.
